Reserve Your Puppy: How it works

reserve your puppy

-How it works

Hear a little bit about our process in this delivery video, and see below for the step-by-step details of how it works.

1. Complete our Puppy Application

First and foremost, feel free to contact us through our our website, Messenger, or a phone call. Get in touch and we will answer your questions and discuss the possibilities with you.

We require a completed Puppy Application before accepting a deposit on any puppy. Let us know your preferred time to meet with you for a phone consultation is best for you. If you are interested in a specific puppy or litter please state so in your application.

Plan approximately 15-20 minutes for the phone consultation, in which we will have an opportunity to go over any questions you might have, get a feel for your lifestyle and what you are looking for in a dog, as well as the approximate time-frame you are seeking. This brief conversation helps us to discern which of our puppies would be the best fit for you based on your preferences. We love hearing about your doggy experiences and sharing about our puppies!

Please make sure you have the time to train a puppy, arrange for it to go out during the day, have a secure yard or containment system plan, etc. Sending our puppies on to good, happy, and caring homes is an important task, and we don’t take this responsibility lightly.

2. Reserve Your Puppy

Once (a) we’ve spoken together on the phone and we feel that one of our puppies will be a good fit for you, and (b) you are ready to make a deposit, we will send you a deposit request through your choice of either PayPal or Venmo (allowances can be made if neither of these is an option for you).

We require a $400 non-refundable deposit to reserve any puppy. This says that you are serious about getting a puppy, and that we no longer need to advertise said puppy, since it is being held just for you. *Note: Even if you were in contact with us about a certain puppy or litter, but haven’t submitted a deposit yet, we do not consider that puppy or litter slot reserved. If someone else happens to put down their deposit before you on the same puppy or litter slot, they will get the puppy or slot regardless of how long you might have been interested.*

You may put down a deposit on any puppy that is currently available. For younger puppies: we will hold said puppy in your name until it is 8 weeks of age and ready for pickup. Hold fees may apply only after 8 weeks of age if you unable to pick up your puppy promptly.

For older puppies: we will hold said puppy in your name until the date agreed on for pickup. You might even be able to pick them up the same day your deposit is placed! Depending on the length of time between deposit placement and pickup, hold fees may apply.

You may put down a deposit on an upcoming litter. This reserves your spot on the reservation list of your desired litter, marked by your name based on the order of deposits received. Reserving a puppy before the litter is born helps us plan our litters for the year, so if you are looking for something in particular please let us know in advance.

Puppies are picked out in the order that we receive deposits. Once the litter has been born, puppy picks may begin. If you are number four on the list, then you will choose your puppy after the first three people ahead of you have picked their puppies.

Example Reservation List:

1st Deposit: Gets first pick of the litter after us. (We as the breeders reserve the right to withhold any puppy for any reason at any time. We rarely do this, but it can happen.)

2nd Deposit: Gets second pick after the first deposit (and again, also after us, if we so choose).

3rd Deposit: You get the idea. If, for any reason your slot is further down on the reservation list and the puppies left to be picked when your turn comes are not what you happen to be looking for in a dog, you can request that your deposit be transferred to a future litter. We will work with you to find the best fit.

4. Bring Your Puppy Home!

Full Payment is due on the day of puppy pick-up. We accept two forms of payment: Cash or Certified Check. (Venmo and PayPal both have fees when using them for business, so we appreciate not using them for the final payment.)

Puppy pickup appointments are scheduled over a 3 day window at 8 weeks of age. These dates will be posted in advance at the top of every litter page once the puppies are born for your convenience.

Once you’ve chosen your puppy, we will set up a private appointment in advance for pickup day (8 weeks of age). We will let you know which slots are available during the 3 day pickup window for your choosing. Puppies go home based on appointment availability rather than by the reservation list.

If you need us to hold your puppy beyond the designated pickup window, there will be a $50 charge per day to do so. This fee helps cover your puppy’s daily care, extra food, grooming, and potential dewormer and vaccinations that will be administered while he/she is being held for you.

Plan approximately 20-45 minutes for you appointment. There will be quite a bit of paperwork to be signed both by us and by you. Once this is completed, we will take time to chat and go over any questions you may have. We send each puppy with a gift bag of helpful supplies to ease the transition from our home to yours. Then it’s time to snuggle you fur-baby all the way home!

Bringing home your puppy doesn’t end at the door; please contact us with any questions that might arise and we’ll do our best to answer them and offer any training tips we have up our sleeves. We love puppy updates, and pictures are wonderful!
